Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while achieving targeted results through exceptional service and efficient execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; manage pet parent interactions, conduct Core and Services Walks, and review cameras for compliance.
- Business Management: Analyze metrics, execute corporate strategies for profitability, maintain inventory, and lead events with community partners like adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial analysis, team motivation, and process improvement. Must thrive in dynamic settings with flexible availability.
