Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive results, and build an exceptional store environment while ensuring compliance and team empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews and foster engagement through open-door culture and recognition.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks/audits, manage inventory, and review cameras for coaching.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and partner on events/adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, financial acumen, and a passion for customer service. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, conflict resolution, and adaptability to flexible schedules.
