Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive strategies for exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, review cameras for compliance, and handle sick pet protocols.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, and optimize processes for continuous improvement.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, financial acumen, and a passion for customer service. Key skills include team motivation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and operational expertise.
