Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key metrics, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver outstanding pet parent service in-store, online, and via phone; conduct Core and Services Walks; review cameras for safety and coaching.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance, manage inventory, and lead events with community adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and process optimization. Flexibility for varied shifts and a passion for pets are essential.
