Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; oversee openings/closings and events.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance; maintain inventory; communicate objectives; partner on community initiatives like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling.
