Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive results, and build an exceptional store environment while ensuring compliance and pet well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and resolve grievances to boost engagement.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure safety for people/pets, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, and partner on community events.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze metrics, communicate objectives, review security footage for coaching, and handle pet health emergencies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, operations, and financial oversight. Key skills include effective delegation, associate development, process improvement, and a passion for pets. Experience with scheduling tools, performance metrics, and safety protocols is essential.
