Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving targeted results and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; maintain compliance with policies; oversee inventory and store standards.
- Business Management: Analyze performance and root causes; deliver profitability goals; communicate objectives; review cameras for safety and coaching; handle pet emergencies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, expertise in customer service, operational efficiency, and financial oversight. Passion for pets, problem-solving, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment are essential. Proficiency in inventory tools, scheduling, and HR practices preferred.
