Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions; ensure pet safety and health; maintain store standards; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; manage openings/closings and events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; optimize inventory; communicate objectives to the team.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and operational excellence. Must thrive in dynamic settings with flexible scheduling.
