Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while achieving key results through exceptional service and efficient execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture with high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; manage pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, monitor cameras, and maintain inventory standards.
- Business Management: Drive profitability by executing strategies, analyzing metrics, communicating objectives, and partnering on events with local adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in operations and customer service, and a passion for pets. Key skills include financial acumen, conflict resolution, process improvement, and fostering a positive culture. Flexibility for varied schedules is essential.
