Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive results, and build an exceptional store environment while ensuring compliance and team empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews, foster open communication, and drive engagement through recognition and feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Oversee pet safety and health, deliver outstanding customer service, manage escalations, conduct safety walks, monitor cameras, and ensure inventory availability.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze metrics, optimize processes, lead events, and collaborate with leadership for operational excellence.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, P&L management, and operations. Pet industry knowledge is a plus. Key skills include strategic thinking, delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Must be available for flexible shifts.
