Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive targeted results, and foster exceptional service while ensuring efficient daily execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, recognition, and succession planning; address grievances and build an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain standards via monthly walks, manage inventory, review cameras for accountability, and handle sick pet protocols.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance, optimize processes, communicate objectives, and partner on events with adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, financial acumen, and a passion for team empowerment.
