Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and achieving business goals in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and build an open-door culture using feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions, events, and compliance; perform monthly walks and camera reviews for accountability.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze performance, manage inventory, and communicate objectives to drive results.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume settings, and passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, customer obsession, financial acumen, and adaptability to flexible schedules. Pet industry knowledge is a plus.
