Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion superior service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead exceptional pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; monitor cameras for safety; manage inventory and events.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze metrics, execute corporate strategies, and maintain compliance with policies and ethics.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service, operations, and financial oversight. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and a passion for pets. Flexibility for varied schedules is essential.
