Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; build open-door culture; manage scheduling, reviews, training, and succession planning; address grievances and celebrate engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; handle escalated pet parent concerns; lead in-store events and community partnerships; conduct safety walks and camera reviews; maintain inventory and compliance.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; oversee opening/closing procedures and process improvements.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, operational efficiency, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Flexible scheduling is essential.
