Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key results, and deliver exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; oversee events and compliance.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze performance; maintain inventory; communicate objectives to drive results.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, and passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, customer obsession, financial acumen, and adaptability in dynamic environments. Pet industry experience is a plus.
