Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using associate feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage pet parent interactions, conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, and maintain inventory standards.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance, optimize processes, and partner on in-store events and community initiatives like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in sales driving, team motivation, and operational efficiency. Flexibility for varied shifts and a passion for pets are essential.
