Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive results, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions; lead events and adoption partnerships; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews for compliance.
- Business Management: Analyze performance, execute corporate strategies for profitability; maintain inventory; prioritize safety; handle store opening/closing.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership to build high-performing teams, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Flexible scheduling is essential.
