Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; build open-door culture; manage scheduling, reviews, training, and succession planning; address grievances and celebrate engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead pet parent interactions; maintain standards via monthly walks; prioritize safety; manage inventory and camera reviews; handle sick pets and openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, P&L accountability, customer service, and operations. Must thrive in dynamic environments, delegate effectively, and have a genuine passion for pets. Flexible availability required.
