Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open communication and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions; maintain standards through walks and compliance checks; manage inventory and safety protocols.
- Business Management: Drive profitability by executing strategies; analyze performance metrics; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in team building and financial oversight, passion for pets, and skills in customer service, operations, and HR. Flexibility for varied shifts and a commitment to safety are essential.

- Facilitate associate development, training, and succession planning
- Prioritize safety for associates, pets, and customers

- Handle store opening/closing and emergency pet care
