Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive PetSmart's culture, achieve key results, champion outstanding service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; manage schedules, performance reviews, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences; ensure pet safety; conduct monthly walks; maintain inventory and compliance; review cameras for safety.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and process improvement. Flexibility for varied shifts and a passion for pets are essential.
