Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve results, champion service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, develop, and recognize associates; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct Core & Services Walks; oversee inventory, events, and camera reviews.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; handle openings/closings and vet transports as needed.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, operations, and financials. Passion for pets, strong decision-making, and adaptability to flexible schedules (days, nights, weekends) required. Proficiency in compliance, coaching, and process improvement essential.
