Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and all HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environment for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; manage inventory and events.
- Operational Excellence: Drive financial outcomes, compliance with policies, and continuous process improvements; partner on community adoption initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years retail management, strong team-building skills, pet care knowledge, and financial savvy. Must excel in customer service, HR functions, safety protocols, and adapting to dynamic retail environments. Passion for pets and community impact required.
