Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and foster an open-door culture with recognition and feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions, conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, and maintain inventory standards.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, optimize processes, and partner on community events like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, and P&L responsibility. Key skills include delegation, problem-solving, pet safety knowledge, and adaptability to dynamic retail environments. Passion for pets and flexible availability required.
