Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive results, and build an exceptional store environment while ensuring compliance and pet welfare.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews and foster engagement through recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Deliver outstanding service, manage pet health/safety, conduct compliance walks, and optimize inventory/processes.
- Business Management: Achieve profitability goals, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and execute corporate strategies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, proven team leadership, financial acumen, and a pet-passionate mindset. Key skills include delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and creating positive cultures. Experience with high-traffic retail, events, and safety protocols is essential.
