Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and resolve grievances to build an engaged team.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions, events, and community partnerships.
- Operations & Compliance: Manage inventory, conduct safety walks and camera reviews, enforce policies, and respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Financial & Strategic: Communicate objectives, optimize processes, and deliver results through efficient execution.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, operations, and pet care. Key skills include delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and fostering empowerment. Passion for pets and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment required.
