Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; facilitate reviews, recognition, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain store standards, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and review security footage for coaching.
- Operations & Financials: Collaborate on events, communicate objectives, prioritize safety, and respond to sick/injured pets with immediate vet transport if needed.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, and operations. Key skills include delegation, financial acumen, compliance knowledge, and passion for pets. Experience in pet retail preferred.
