Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive targeted outcomes, and build an exceptional store environment while ensuring compliance and pet welfare.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; foster open communication and high engagement through recognition and feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Oversee pet parent interactions, ensure safety for people/pets, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and respond to concerns.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, optimize processes, and partner on events/adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, P&L management, and customer service. Key skills include strategic delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and a genuine love for pets. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
