Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial outcomes, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key results, and deliver exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open communication and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions; maintain store standards; conduct safety walks and camera reviews; manage events and inventory.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; prioritize safe, compliant operations.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and customer service, financial acumen, and a passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and data-driven decision-making. Flexibility for varied schedules is essential.
