Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver outstanding pet parent service; maintain store standards; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; manage inventory and events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; prioritize safety and compliance.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, and a passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, customer focus, financial acumen, and adaptability to flexible schedules.

- Manage inventory, scheduling, and compliance with policies and procedures
- Conduct store walks, camera reviews, and drive continuous process improvements
- Foster company culture, associate engagement, and community partnerships
