Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides leadership oversight for safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, interviewing, hiring, coaching, and terminations. Foster open-door culture, manage schedules, deliver reviews, and recognize achievements.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy pets and exceptional pet parent interactions. Lead compliance walks, prioritize safety, manage inventory, and review cameras for coaching.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategy for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and partner on events with adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Skills in team development, conflict resolution, and operational efficiency are essential. Flexibility for days, nights, and weekends required.
