Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, champion superior service, and execute daily business while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers. Manage pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, monitor cameras, and maintain inventory compliance.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance, optimize processes, and partner on events like adoptions. Oversee opening/closing and policy adherence.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team leadership, customer service, and operations. Key skills include financial acumen, pet safety knowledge, conflict resolution, and the ability to empower teams in a fast-paced retail setting. Passion for pets and community engagement is essential.
