Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion outstanding service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver exceptional customer service; conduct monthly walks; maintain compliance; manage inventory and events; review cameras for safety.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; optimize processes for sales and efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership, customer focus, and operational expertise. Key skills include team motivation, financial acumen, problem-solving, and a passion for pets. Experience in pet retail is a plus.

- Manage inventory, scheduling, and compliance with policies
- Conduct store walks, camera reviews, and process improvements
- Foster company culture and drive associate engagement
