Role Overview

The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion superior service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.

Key Responsibilities

• People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open communication and high engagement.
• Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain store standards, conduct safety walks, manage inventory, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.
• Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, review security footage for coaching, and respond to pet health issues.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, passion for pets, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and operational excellence. Proficiency in customer service, conflict resolution, and data-driven decision-making is essential. Must thrive in dynamic settings with flexible availability.
