Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion service excellence, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences; ensure pet safety; conduct walks for compliance; manage inventory and events; review cameras for safety coaching.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; partner on community initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership, customer service expertise, operational acumen, and a passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, financial oversight, problem-solving, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
