Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers. Lead pet parent interactions, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, review cameras for safety, and partner on community events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and optimize processes for continuous improvement.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, expertise in team development, customer service, and operations. Pet industry knowledge is a plus. Must thrive in dynamic settings with flexible scheduling.
