Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver outstanding pet parent service; maintain store standards; conduct monthly walks; manage inventory and safety protocols; review cameras for coaching.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance and root causes; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoption initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, proficiency in team development and financial oversight, passion for pet care, and skills in process improvement and customer engagement. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
