Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve key metrics, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and boost engagement through recognition.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers. Manage pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, monitor cameras, oversee inventory, and lead events with adoption partners.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability by analyzing performance, executing strategies, communicating objectives, and optimizing processes for continuous improvement.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, operations, and financial accountability. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, pet safety knowledge, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Passion for pets and retail excellence required.
