Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, review cameras for compliance, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze metrics, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership skills, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and a passion for pets. Proficiency in team motivation, operational efficiency, and safety protocols is essential. Flexible scheduling and problem-solving abilities are key.
