Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; oversee opening/closing procedures.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze data and root causes; maintain inventory levels; communicate objectives to team leaders.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service, financial acumen, and passion for pet care. Key skills include operational efficiency, compliance enforcement, conflict resolution, and strategic thinking to thrive in a dynamic retail setting.
