Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experience, operations, finances, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, develop, and manage associate performance; foster open-door culture and engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead events, compliance walks, and issue resolution.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability through strategy execution, inventory control, financial analysis, and operational improvements.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, and P&L responsibility. Pet industry knowledge a plus. Must excel in delegation, feedback response, safety prioritization, and driving results in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all store operations including safety, customer experience, and financial performance
- Lead recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, and performance reviews for entire team
- Ensure exceptional pet parent service and resolve escalated concerns
- Conduct store walks, inventory management, and compliance audits
- Drive business goals through strategy execution and team empowerment
- Monitor store cameras, address risks, and manage pet health/safety incidents
