Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and resolve grievances to build engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage escalations, conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, and maintain inventory standards.
- Business Management: Analyze performance, execute strategies for profitability, communicate objectives, and partner on events like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, operations, and financial oversight. Passion for pets, strong communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment are essential. Experience with pet care and community partnerships is a plus.
