Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient execution to achieve targeted business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with recognition and feedback response.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; maintain compliance with policies; prioritize safety via camera reviews and incident response.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance and root causes; manage inventory; communicate objectives; partner on events and community initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and process improvement. Must thrive in dynamic settings with flexible scheduling.
