Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion superior service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver exceptional in-store service; conduct monthly Core and Services Walks; manage inventory and compliance.
- Business Management: Analyze performance metrics, execute corporate strategies, optimize profitability, and collaborate on events like adoption partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service and pet care, financial acumen for driving sales, and proficiency in HR tasks like scheduling and conflict resolution. Passion for pets and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential.
