Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key metrics, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; oversee inventory and events.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance; cascade objectives; partner with leadership for operational excellence.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, expertise in team building, customer service, and P&L management. Pet industry passion, process improvement mindset, and adaptability to flexible schedules (days, nights, weekends) are essential.
