Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, strategies, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient execution to achieve targeted outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and build an open-door culture using feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, and oversee inventory compliance.
- Business Management: Drive profitability by executing corporate strategies, analyzing performance, and communicating objectives to the team.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and customer service, financial acumen, and a passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced retail setting. Flexible scheduling is essential.
