Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions; conduct safety walks; manage inventory; review cameras for compliance; partner on events and adoptions.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; optimize processes for efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, operational oversight, conflict resolution, and data-driven decision-making. Flexible availability is essential.
