Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; foster open-door culture, deliver reviews, and boost engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage escalations, conduct compliance walks, oversee inventory, and review security footage.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and partner on events like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in team building and customer service, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and compliance with safety protocols. Experience in pet retail is a plus.
