Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) oversees all store functions including people safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open-door culture and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver outstanding customer service; maintain store standards; conduct monthly walks; manage inventory and safety protocols.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoption initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in team motivation, financial oversight, and process improvement. Passion for pets and customer-centric mindset required.
