Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct compliance walks; oversee inventory and events.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze metrics, execute strategies, review cameras for safety, and respond to pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in team motivation, financial oversight, and customer-centric operations. Flexibility for varied shifts and passion for pets are essential.

- Lead recruitment, hiring, coaching, and performance reviews for associates
- Drive exceptional pet parent service and resolve escalated concerns
- Manage inventory, scheduling, and compliance with policies
- Conduct store walks, camera reviews, and safety assessments
- Foster company culture through recognition and team engagement
- Collaborate on events and community partnerships
- Analyze business metrics and execute corporate strategies
- Ensure pet health and welfare including vet transport if needed
- Handle opening/closing procedures and grievance resolution
