Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver exceptional customer service; conduct monthly walks; maintain compliance; manage inventory and events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics; communicate objectives; review cameras for safety; handle pet emergencies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and process improvement. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
